Annie Pichan is a vocalist and songwriter whose work seeks truth, guided by heritage and craftsmanship, and led by storytelling.

Growing up in metro Detroit, Michigan, Annie was immersed in a rich musical culture shaped by Motown, R&B, gospel, and soul. She began performing professionally at a young age, appearing at venues including MotorCity Casino and MGM Grand Detroit, as well as on the court for the Detroit Pistons, while also recording vocal sessions for brands including Honda and Chevrolet.

Annie earned her Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music in 2013 before relocating to New York City, where she built an active career as a vocalist, performer, and songwriter. She has performed at venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Bowery Electric, Sofar Sounds, and Carnegie Hall with Ted Sperling's MasterVoices, and has been featured on BTR Today and Montez Press Radio, broadcasting from New York City and London. She also composed, co-produced, and released her 2019 debut EP, Paint My Lover, a genre-blending collaboration of pop, opera, and electronic music. Its accompanying music video was selected for international film festivals in Prague, Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas, in 2020.

The EP explored imposter syndrome, existential crisis, heartbreak, and limerence, closing with "My Lover, I Don't Need You," about vulnerability in love that doesn't cost a person their sense of self.

For Annie, music is a joyful discipline, a way of exploring how people process, connect, and move through the world. Just as nature must be revered, she believes the artistic process is a relationship between the artist and the work, one that generously offers flowers of brilliance to those who tend it with respect, devotion, and care.

Deeply moved by cinematic scores, opera, Impressionism, minimalism, and Avant-garde, she draws inspiration from Alexandre Desplat, Jeanine De Bique, Philip Glass, Sufjan Stevens, Björk, and Anna Calvi. Her work aims to build expansive sonic worlds that each unfold as a story arc, guided by a voice that expresses beauty, raw reaction, and power.

She is currently recording and producing her second studio album under the project name Annie + the Husbands, a nod to music as a constant.
