Annie is a voice teacher and founder of The Expressive Voice™, a team-building communication workshop bringing evidence-based vocal principles into the corporate world to help teams connect, present, and lead with greater impact and authenticity.
Driven by a deep curiosity for the mechanics and coordination of the human voice, she teaches professional and hobbyist singers alike, as well as executives, litigators, politicians, and public speakers who want to communicate with greater clarity, confidence, and presence.
Her teaching philosophy draws upon evidence-based voice pedagogy, vocal acoustics, student-led learning, acting, and motor learning to identify the most effective strategies to help optimize each individual voice.
As founder and director of The Vocal Lab NYC (2014–2023), Annie led a team of fifteen instructors while mentoring singers, Off-Broadway performers, and professionals from across the United States and abroad, as well as overseeing a team-building program at the Inter-American Development Bank. She also partnered with Maxsine International in China to help students prepare for and apply to music conservatories in the US.
The Vocal Lab's mission was to bring the principles of Evidence-Based Voice Pedagogy (EBVP) into mainstream voice instruction by assembling a faculty trained at some of the nation's leading voice pedagogy programs, including Shenandoah Conservatory, Westminster Choir College, Columbia University, New York University, and Oberlin Conservatory.
